Patrick Mercer

Patrick Mercer is a young Wadawurrung Koori man from Ballarat, Victoria, and grew up on Boonwurrung, Wiradjuri and Guringai country. Patrick has a BA in Ancient World Studies and Australian Indigenous Studies and is beginning a Masters of Education. He has worked as a tutor, mentor, editor and research assistant for several years at the University of Melbourne, and has been lucky enough work with the Indigenous-Settler Research Collaboration, IndigenousX and the Centre for Mental health at the University of Melbourne. Patrick is passionate about the Australian education system, particularly teaching Australia’s true history; the cultural and mental wellbeing of Indigenous youth, Indigenous climate justice and Australian political and justice reform.
