Hamed Allahyari
Hamed Allahyari was born in Iran’s capital, Tehran, migrated to Australia in 2012, and has called Melbourne home since. Hamed is the founder of SalamaTea, a social enterprise cafe run by people seeking asylum and refugees. His life revolves around food and sharing his Persian cultural and culinary heritage with the local community. He employs as many people as he can for the cafe, ensuring that no one is turned away regardless of whether they speak English, their qualifications or references. His goal is to train people seeking asylum and refugees, and give them the confidence to gain employment in Australia.
