Claire Corbett

Claire Corbett is the author of several novels: When We Have Wings, Watch Over Me and the forthcoming The Aquarium. When We Have Wings was shortlisted for the 2012 Barbara Jefferis Award, the 2012 Ned Kelly Award for best first novel and published overseas. She has published a number of short stories, including several selected for Best Australian Stories (2014 and 2015), essays, reviews and journal articles. Her essay 'The Last Space Waltz: 2001 and NASA' was shortlisted for the 2012 CAL/ABR essay prize and her story ‘Aftertaste' was shortlisted for the 2019 Margaret River Press Short Story Award. She teaches Creative Writing at UTS, is a Director of the Board of Varuna, the National Writers’ House, and the fiction editor for the Australian journal Overland.
