Non-fiction pitches are now open and close at 11.59pm (AEST) Sunday 11 August.

This round we seek short-form memoir pieces (between 1500-2000 words). The world can seem an overwhelming place right now. The best kind of memoir offers an antidote to some of this anxiety, exploring big issues through a personal lens and offering nuanced approaches to our thinking.

Minimum payment to writers: $500.

For some recent examples of what we like, have a read of ‘On Motherhood and the Creative Life’ by Megan Cheong and ‘The Humiliation of Writing Fiction’ by Em Meller.

To help you prepare your work for publication, we’ve launched a new course with the wonderful Liam Pieper, plus TWO new masterclass bundles—see below.

KYD members can enjoy $50 off until 11.59pm (AEST) Sunday 11 August.
