Here at Kill Your Darlings we’re gearing up for a big 2018, bringing you fantastic new writing from right across Australia. As part of this, we’re excited to announce some changes and new additions to our team of staff and regular writers.

First of all, we’re delighted to welcome Justina Ashman to the KYD team as our new Editorial Assistant. Justina is a writer and editor whose writing has appeared in Pencilled In and KYD. In 2015 she was awarded the Monash Undergraduate Prize for Creative Writing. Justina will be assisting the KYD team across editorial, administration and events.

We’re also excited to announce Ellen Cregan as our new First Book Club Coordinator. Ellen is a writer, bookseller and editor whose work has appeared in publications such as Voiceworks, The Suburban Review and Feminartsy. Ellen will be regularly writing about our First Book Club titles in 2018 – keep an eye out for her across our website, at regular in-person events and on the KYD Podcast.

We also have a number of regular writers returning to KYD in 2018. Off the back of her successful ‘Wake in Light’ essay series last year, Lauren Carroll Harris joins the team as a Contributing Editor, writing a regular column on film and TV. Lauren joins our three other Contributing Editors – Jane Howard, whose column this year will focus on podcast criticism, Samantha Forge, writing on the arts industry and policy, and Rebecca Shaw writing on feminism, sexuality and pop culture.

Plus, stay tuned for more Extraordinary Routines and Shelf Reflection, and a revamped KYD Podcast.

Happy reading!
