This week Kill Your Darlings, in partnership with the Ubud Writers & Readers Festival (UWRF) presents a showcase of emerging Indonesian writers, who are all previous UWRF artists.
Bonni Rambatan on comics as resistance and social change;
Eliza Vitri Handayani reflects on faith and feminism as an Indonesian Muslim;
Norman Erikson Pasaribu tells the story of the saddest true story in the world.
As well as our showcase of emerging Indonesian writers, we’re also revisiting Laura Jean McKay’s piece from KYD Issue 15 on attending the Bali Emerging Writer’s Festival, which is this year being reborn as the Emerging Voices program at UWRF.
The 14th UWRF runs from 25–29 October in beautiful Ubud, Bali. The first lineup has been revealed, and early bird tickets are on sale until the full program is announced on 16 August.
