We are delighted to exclusively premiere the book trailer (above) for our inaugural Kill Your Darlings First Book Club selection, Maxine Beneba Clarke’s short story collection Foreign Soil. Trailer by Nicholas Walton-Healey, with soundtrack by Albert Street Media.

Foreign Soil won the 2013 Victorian Premier’s Unpublished Manuscript Award. At the May First Book Club event, Clarke will discuss her path to publication and the stories behind her stories, which give a voice to the disenfranchised, the lost, the downtrodden and the mistreated.

Maxine Beneba Clarke will be in conversation with Kill Your Darlings Deputy Online Editor Veronica Sullivan, followed by audience Q&A and book signing. Drinks will be provided.

The First Book Club is free, but bookings are essential.
