Join award-winning writer Alison Evans in this unique writing workshop all about the fundamentals of writing fiction for young adults.

Whether writing genre or contemporary young adult fiction, your book needs to speak to teenagers. The market is full of wonderful stories for teens; how can you make sure yours will stand out?

This workshop will give you the tools you need to craft your manuscript. Through writing exercises and discussions, you’ll learn about the most important components that make up a YA book: character, voice, structure and emotional themes.

About the Teacher:

Alison Evans is the award-winning author of young adult books Ida, Highway Bodies, and Euphoria Kids. They are a contributor in the anthology Kindred: 12 Queer #LoveOzYA Stories, co-editor of Concrete Queers and fiction editor for #enbylife magazine. They are based on Wurundjeri Land.

This is a day-long workshop. Morning tea will be provided, and there is a 45-minute break for lunch. There is on-street parking nearby, as well as cafes and restaurants. Access to the venue is via steps and a ramp. For further information, please email [email protected]
