Exciting news! We are currently accepting submissions for our sixth anthology of short fiction, New Australian Fiction 2024.
Each year New Australian Fiction showcases stories from some of Australia’s best and brightest short fiction writers. The anthology will be edited by KYD’s editor Suzy Garcia.
You must be a KYD member to be considered (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander writers excepted). We encourage writers from diverse backgrounds and all levels of experience to submit to this collection. Stories must be between 2000-6000 words and must be previously unpublished. All genres will be considered.
Submissions close at 11:59pm (AEST) 7 April 2024.
For more information and to submit your work, visit our Submittable page.
If you’re in need of some inspiration, you can purchase last year’s edition, New Australian Fiction 2023, at our online shop, or receive a copy as part of a KYD membership.
If you want to perfect your story before submitting, put your best foot forward by completing one of our short fiction courses with award-winning writers!
We look forward to reading your work!
