Applications for the KYD February–June 2024 Mentors Program have been extended and will now close at 11:59pm (AEDT) on Wednesday 4 October 2023.
The KYD Mentors Program is a comprehensive and structured editorial mentorship program designed to support early-career writers in the development of a long-form work of fiction or non-fiction. Writers across Australia could apply to work with the mentor of their choice over a five-month period.
The current mentors are:
- Melina Marchetta
- Hayley Scrivenor
- Ronnie Scott
- Claire Thomas
- Josephine Rowe
- Eda Gunaydin
- Gabriel Bergmoser
A mentorship consists of close reading and reporting on your work in progress (10–12,000 words at a time, totalling up to 60,000 words), along with five consultations in-person, over the phone or on Zoom over the five-month period.
The program will leave you inspired, motivated and armed with lots of new skills. Several past KYD mentees have gone on to have their books published after developing their manuscripts through the program. Read their testimonials here.
Don’t miss your chance to work with an experienced, award-winning writer!
Applications close at 11:59pm (AEDT) on Wednesday 4 October 2023.
