Applications are now open for the 2020 KYD Mentors Program, a unique, comprehensive and structured editorial mentorship program designed to support early-career writers in the development of a long-form work of fiction or non-fiction.
Writers across Australia can now apply to work with the following mentors over a six-month period:
- Claire G. Coleman
- Carly Findlay
- Leanne Hall
- Graeme Simsion
- Rebecca Starford
- Fiona Wright
A mentorship consists of close reading and reporting on your work in progress (10–12,000 words at a time, totalling up to 60,000 words), along with five consultations over Skype, phone or in-person over the six-month period.
Our mentors are experienced, award-winning writers, editors and teachers, with valuable insights into both the publishing industry and the creative regime required to craft a long-form manuscript. Read about our mentors here.
Applications are now open. Mentorships will begin in February and finish in July 2020. KYD, a publication dedicated to supporting of new and emerging writers, will only accept applications if we believe a writer will genuinely benefit from the program and the mentor nominated.
Applications close 17 November 2019.
