The KYD Writers Workshop is delighted to expand our course offerings interstate, starting with Brisbane and Adelaide, with more events around Australia to follow in 2018.
On Saturday, 21 October, freelance writer and memoirist Bri Lee will host Freelancing for Beginners at Brisbane Square Library. This half-day seminar will outline all you need to know about pitching, forging relationships with editors, invoicing, and everything in between. It’s the perfect course for those who want to take their freelance career to the next level.
On Saturday, 4 November, bestselling novelist and KYD publishing director Hannah Kent, author of the acclaimed Burial Rites and The Good People, will host Writing Historical Fiction at Stirling Coventry Library in Adelaide. This day-long workshop is designed to explain the ways in which research can be used to strengthen characterisation, setting and plot, and will teach efficient techniques and approaches to avoid burdening your fiction with superfluous historical information or lapses into anachronism with an award-winning teacher.
For more details on both workshops, including how to make bookings, please click here. And don’t forget, all KYD members receive a discount on our workshops – and if you become a member before September 30 you’ll also be entered into the draw to win a pair of Sony noice-cancelling headphones!
