We’re delighted to announce the return of the Kill Your Darlings First Book Club in 2015!
Following a stellar first year in 2014, with extraordinary events celebrating debut books from Maxine Beneba Clarke, Emily Bitto, Jock Serong, Eli Glasman and Omar Musa, and a special online event last month with Ellen van Neerven, the First Book Club returns this month with our first live event for 2015: Erin Gough‘s stunning debut YA novel The Flywheel (Hardie Grant), winner of the Ampersand Project.
We’re also excited to reveal that in 2015, we’ll be moving to a new host venue thanks to our friends at Readings Carlton. The First Book Club will now be run on the last Thursday of every month, starting on Thursday March 26.
At the Kill Your Darlings First Book Club event in March, Erin will discuss her path to publication and the inspiration behind her beautifully written debut novel, which 2014 Killings columnist Danielle Binks described as a ‘tender-true story of girl meets girl, falling in love and finding your feet’.
Erin will be in conversation with Kill Your Darlings’ Online Editor Veronica Sullivan, followed by audience Q&A and book signing. You can enjoy the First Book Club even if you haven’t yet read the book – but you’ll definitely want to afterwards!
The First Book Club is free, but please RSVP to [email protected] to confirm your place.
