We are thrilled to be part of this year’s Monash University Undergraduate Prize for Creative Writing. Presented as part of the Emerging Writers’ Festival, this exciting prize is a significant literary award for new and emerging writers. The prize is open to both Australian and New Zealand university students, enrolled in either an undergraduate or honours degree. Not only is our Publishing Director and Editor-in-Chief Rebecca Starford on the judging panel, but we are also lucky enough to be publishing the winning entry in an upcoming issue of Kill Your Darlings.
Emily Riches, the winner of last year’s Monash Prize for Undergraduate Creative Writing said:
‘Winning the Monash Prize made many things appear as if by magic: myself, as a writer; countless wonderful, encouraging people who care passionately about literature and the confidence, excitement and inspiration to keep on writing.’
The prize is now open and you can enter here for a chance to win $4000 and publication in KYD. Winners will be announced on Tuesday 26 May at the opening night of the 2015 Emerging Writers’ Festival.
