The Boy’s Own Manual to Being a Proper Jew is the first novel from Melbourne-based writer Eli Glasman. Eli’s work has appeared in Voiceworks and Sleepers Almanac, and he publishes a popular blog about his life and writing.
At the Kill Your Darlings First Book Club event in September, Eli Glasman will discuss his path to publication and the inspiration behind his debut book, which tells the story of a young man growing up in Caulfield’s Orthodox Jewish community and grappling with his sexuality.
Glasman will be in conversation with Kill Your Darlings’ Online Editor Veronica Sullivan, followed by audience Q&A and book signing. Complimentary drinks will be provided by the Beer Gypsies.
